MQM-P Wins Karachi’s PS-94 By-Polls
A candidate of Muttahida Quami Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P), Hashim Raza has won the by-election on PS-94 of Sindh Assembly seat by securing 21537 votes.

As per unofficial results, as many as 149 polling stations results have been received to Abbtakk News.

According to unofficial results, Pakistan Tehreek Insaf (PTI) stood on the second position by getting 8,978 votes, while, Mohajir Qaoumi Movement (MQM) candidate Aamir Akhtar remained on third as he got 5806 votes.

Former Nazim-e-Karachi Mustafa Kamal led Pakistan Sarzameen Party (PSP) candidate Irfan Waheed got 1416 votes while Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) man, Javeed Shiekh took 1218 votes.

The polling began at 8:00 am in the morning and ended continue till 5 pm in the evening without any break.

According to details, Rangers have been deployed upon the instructions of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) in and outside the polling stations to ensure peaceful, secure and transparent polls.

The seat had fallen vacant after the death of Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan’s (MQM-P) lawmaker Muhammad Wajahat, who won the seat in the general elections, 2018.

The number of total registered voters in the constituency is around 246,449, out of which 136,808 are male voters, while 109,641 are female voters.

As many as 16 candidates contested the by-election with a tough competition between Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidates.

Several political parties and prominent among those MQM-P and Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) have increased their political activities to acquire public’s support in the PS-94 which is located in the district limits of Korangi.

Moreover, MQM-P organised a rally on the last day of the election campaign.

MQM-P’s leader Amir Khan sarcastically advised political rivals to not struggle by saying that his party’s candidate would be victorious with a decisive margin.

Meanwhile, PSP’s leader Mustafa Kamal moved to the constituency and asked the general public to support his party if they were to secure their basic rights and fundamental facilities.
