Parliament Can Not Be Shield For Corrupt Individuals: Shafqat

Shafqat Mahmood
Shafqat Mahmood, who is current Federal Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training, on Thursday made it clear to all leaders that Parliament is not going to act as a shield for those indulged in corruption.

Senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader lashed out at the members of the opposition in his address at the National Assembly.

“We [PTI-led Govt] has been alleged for taking revenge [in name of accountability]. NAB is an independent institution and Government has no involvement with its workings.” stated the Federal education minister.

The senior politician, further, claimed that Justice (Retd.) Javed Iqbal was appointed Chairman of NAB after consulting Khursheed Shah, therefore, the inclusion of parliament in matters of anyone’s arrest seemed baseless.

Earlier, Shah, in his address at NA, claimed that Agha Siraj Durrani’s arrest is part of a conspiracy which aims to weaken the Parliament.

While expressing himself, the senior PPP leader announced that Pakistan Peoples Party will stage protests at every street over Durrani’s arrest.

“It may be possible that Agha Siraj Durrani has done something wrong [possibily guilty in graft cases], but what sort of treatment is being carried out with him?

Everyone in the house; from Maulvi Tamizuddin Khan to NA Speaker are respectable for us”, stated Shah.
