Reducing State Share In Russian Economy Off Gov't Agenda

Reducing State Share In Russian Economy Off Gov't Agenda
Russian Accounts Chamber Chairman Alexei Kudrin said Saturday that the Russian government was no longer planning to reduce the share of the state in the country's economy.

"The issue of lowering the state's share in the economy is in fact taken off the government's agenda," Kudrin tweeted.

According to Kudrin, the government's plans not to reduce the state share is also proved by the three-year budget that envisions $361-million revenue from privatization, the lowest figure since 2000.

The necessity to lower the share of the state in the economy was stressed by Russian President Vladimir Putin during his annual address to the Federal Assembly in March.
