This was revealed in a petition filed by a rights activist, Advocate Syed Mujtaba Hussain, in the Human Rights Commission of occupied Kashmir. The petition pointed out that continued denial of medical attention and basic facilities to Aasiya Andrabi had affected her health badly.
Aasiya Andrabi was arrested by India’s National Investigation Agency in July this year on the charge of ‘anti-India activities’ and is under judicial custody in Tihar jail.
The petitioner said that the DeM Chairperson was suffering from multiple ailments before she was taken to Delhi. “All her ailments have aggravated now as she is being denied medical care and other basic facilities inside Tihar jail,” Advocate Syed Mujtaba Hussain said.
The petition maintained that other DeM leaders, Nahida Nasreen and Fehmeeda Sofi, were also suffering from unattended health issues.
