A man was arrested here Monday night for circulating fake revenge porn videos of his ex-wife and, prior to that, blackmailing her for money, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) said.
According to officials of the FIA's cyber crime wing, the woman registered a complaint with the agency, stating that her former husband, Muhammad Naeem Ansari, was blackmailing her using doctored indecent videos of her and demanding money.
The woman also noted that upon her refusal to give in to his demands and pay him for not distributing the doctored videos, Ansari, the husband, sent the clips to her family and relatives, the officials said.
After it had filed the complained and registered a first information report (FIR), the FIA said, it commenced an investigation and arrested the husband.
