Former Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) leader and ex-MNA Syed Ali Raza Abidi has been shot and injured in Karachi's DHA neighbourhood.
The former lawmaker from Karachi was shot at Khayaban-i-Ittehad. At least one other person has also been injured in the firing, initial reports say.
Unidentified assailants opened fire on Abidi's vehicle near his residence.
The injured have been taken to PNS Shifa hospital.
Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr Syed Kaleem Imam has taken notice of the incident and sought a report from police authorities.
